Hello, my name is Christopher, and I’m the owner of Family Refinishers, LLC in Central Texas. I’d like to give you some information on resurfacing in general. I’ve recently had a high number of potential customers question me about my prices because my prices are much lower than others. In fact, I’m charging almost half as much as my competitors. The No. 1 concern is that my material must be bad because I’m so low in price, but this is not the case. I hate to say this, but my competitors are ripping you off as a potential customer.

The High Industry Standards
These figures are relatively low, and to be perfectly honest, even at 10 ounces of material, it’s not nearly enough to coat a standard tub twice. Every refinisher should use a gun that holds one quart (32 ounces) of material at a time. I personally use about half my cup (16 ounces) of material for one tub. The standard mixture is 4:1, meaning four parts materials (16 ounces) and one part catalyst (it’s what makes material hard when it dries), as well as reducer as needed, usually in the same amount as the catalyst.
