You Can Save Thousands of Dollars!
How much will I save with reglazing vs. replacement?
Reglazing is the way to go if you DO NOT want to remodel your entire bathroom. It can save you hundreds or even thousands of dollars over replacement. While a brand-new bathtub may only cost as little as $300, there are hidden costs such as removal and disposal cost, plumbing alterations, and tile work. These costs add up, and you can easily end up spending nearly $2,500 to replace your bathtub.
How long does the bathtub refinishing process take?
Our reglazing process typically only takes two to five hours to complete. You can use your fixture the next day.
Does Family Refinishers offer a warranty?
We offer an industry-leading five-year warranty for residential work and three years for high-traffic commercial jobs like hotels, motels, military bases, and university housing.
How do I care for my new reglazed fixture?
All reglazed surfaces should be cleaned with a non-abrasive mild cleanser. We recommend Dow Scrubbing Bubbles, Mr. Clean, or Fantastic. The newly reglazed surface will be completely smooth, and your grout lines will be sealed (if tile is reglazed), leaving a surface that is non-porous and resistant to mold, mildew, and dirt. This surface will only require light cleaning with a mild detergent such as the ones recommended. No scrubbing or scouring will be needed.
Is there an odor while the work is being done?
We come equipped with full ventilation systems for occupied units to extract odors that naturally occur with our process. You may notice a slight odor after we’re finished that is typically gone within a few hours.
Do you change any of the plumbing fixtures?
When it comes to bathroom refinishing jobs, plumbing problems (leaks, broken fixtures, etc.) must be resolved before the tub is reglazed, as the material needs to stay dry for at least 24 hours to cure. We are not licensed plumbers and will not touch or remove any plumbing fixtures.
Can my countertops be reglazed?
Our reglazing process works on a variety of countertop surfaces, including Formica®, tile, and cultured marble. We can also save you money with stone-like finishes. You can have that natural-stone look for a fraction of the cost of marble or granite when you choose us for your bathroom refinishing project.
Do you repair cracks, chips, and scratches in my bathtub?
We’ll fill in any chips or other imperfections in your bathtub or other surface prior to the refinishing process. We make your damaged porcelain, acrylic, or fiberglass surface look as good as new.
What makes Family Refinishers different from other refinishing companies?
We only use the highest-quality materials in our refinishing process. All material we use was designed for this type of work, and we buy our material straight from the source.
Is the new finish the same as the original finish?
No, it’s not. Anyone that even hints that it is porcelain is deceiving you. To duplicate a porcelain finish, the fixture needs to be fired in a kiln at 2,500 degrees, which is not practical in a home! The finish is a synthetic which, when applied, hardens to a beautiful high-gloss, porcelain-like luster. Resurfacing is a unique process developed specifically for bathtubs. It is laboratory-tested to meet the highest standards of product performance and quality. Our long list of satisfied customers proves that claim and guarantees your complete satisfaction.

Can I use the bathtub before you arrive?
Yes; the tub does not need to be dry when we arrive. You can use it right up to the minute before we get there. Please do not clean the tub with any products before we arrive.
